ABSTRACT

Service providers from the informal sectors in the Philippines are left unemployed or want to look for part-time jobs due to the sudden COVID-19 pandemic. With the country on lockdown and as strict restrictions are implemented, people started adopting the e-commerce and m-commerce market. The rise in the Filipino masses using smartphones and participating in mobile commerce to purchase products and services over the Internet has given researchers a potential solution for the arising problem. Thus, the primary objective of the research is to design and develop a user-friendly mobile application that will give a platform where potential home service providers can offer their services to potential clients. HanAPP Buhay, a mobile application that is created in Android Studio with Java as a programming language, is a platform where service providers can offer a variety of home services including laundry, plumbing, cleaning, and electrical works to potential clients. As for the Application Programming Interface (API), Stripe and Firebase are the tools utilized for databases and transaction purposes. The researchers conducted a series of surveys and experiments and have determined that in the 38 trials, the HanAPP Buhay mobile application is functioning 100% accurately as expected, 99.995382330563% and 99.994941213182% working at real-time booking of appointments in the 16 trials for clients and 22 trials for workers respectively, have a reliable user's interface and secured data of both users through the Scrypt algorithm, and effective in its overall specifications in terms of customer's satisfaction. © 2022 IEEE.

ABSTRACT

There are still outbreaks of COVID-19 across the world. Ships increase the risk of worldwide transmission of the virus. Close contact tracing remains as an effective method of reducing the risk of virus transmission. Therefore, close contact tracing in ship environments becomes a research topic. Exposure Notifications API (Application Programming Interface) can be used to determine the encountered location points of close contacts on ships. Location points of close contact are estimated by the encountered location points. Risky areas in ships can be calculated based on the encountered location points. The tracking of close contacts is possible with Bluetooth technology without the Internet. The Bluetooth signal can be used to judge the proximity among detecting devices by using the feature that Bluetooth has a strong signal at close range. This Bluetooth feature makes it possible to trace close contacts in ship environments. In this paper, we propose a method for close contact tracing and showing the risky area in a ship environment by combining beacon and Exposure Notification API using Bluetooth technology. This method does not require an Internet connection for tracing close contacts and can protect the personal information of close contacts. Copyright © 2023 KSII.

ABSTRACT

As a result of globalization, the COVID-19 pandemic and the migration of data to the cloud, the traditional security measures where an organization relies on a security perimeter and firewalls do not work. There is a shift to a concept whereby resources are not being trusted, and a zero-trust architecture (ZTA) based on a zero-trust principle is needed. Adapting zero trust principles to networks ensures that a single insecure Application Protocol Interface (API) does not become the weakest link comprising of Critical Data, Assets, Application and Services (DAAS). The purpose of this paper is to review the use of zero trust in the security of a network architecture instead of a traditional perimeter. Different software solutions for implementing secure access to applications and services for remote users using zero trust network access (ZTNA) is also summarized. A summary of the author's research on the qualitative study of 'Insecure Application Programming Interface in Zero Trust Networks' is also discussed. The study showed that there is an increased usage of zero trust in securing networks and protecting organizations from malicious cyber-attacks. The research also indicates that APIs are insecure in zero trust environments and most organization are not aware of their presence. © 2022 IEEE.

ABSTRACT

A growing number of people are using tweets about the recent coronavirus epidemic of COVID-19 as a dataset to determine how worried people are in different parts of the world. This study attempts to uncover the key sentiments expressed by Twitter users regarding the COVID-19 epidemic by categorizing the tweets into positive and negative sentiments utilizing several resources (such as the Twitter search application programming interface (API), the Tweepy Python library, and the CSV excel database), as well as some predefined search terms ('#LockdownPakistan.'). We extracted the text of English language tweets from 28th March-1st May 2020. We have performed the sentiment analysis and classified the tweets in a binary class of positive and negative. Further, we used the word frequencies of single (unigrams), double (bigrams), and three words to examine the gathered tweets (tri-grams). According to our data, the majority of tweets express a positive attitude, with the word for lockdown COVID-19 appearing frequently. When looking at frequency analysis, the word 'family and time' stood out among the other words, which suggests that tweets were mostly optimistic and sentiments of defeating SARS-COV-2 prevail. People are determined to spend the lockdown in a good way. However, a few of the negative tweets, nevertheless, should serve as a warning for healthcare officials to make appropriate arrangements. Public health crisis responses are today complicated and highly synchronized both offline and online. Social media is a significant medium that gives people the chance to communicate with healthcare authorities directly. © 2022 IEEE.

ABSTRACT

In this paper, Covid Explorer model's aim is to provide information on Covid 19 like-how you can prevent the Corona Virus, symptoms of Corona Virus or how to book slots for the Corona Virus. You can add the current data related to Covid 19 like a graph indicated the increase or decrease of death rate from this virus, a report is given to show the death rate, the number of vaccines doses given on a particular day, state wise cases are also shown through Application Programming Interface (API) in Covid Explorer model. The model is analyzing and tracking Corona Virus. As per the data analysis this pandemic creates mental health issues but if a model gave up-to date data of the current scenario then stress can be overcome and society can fight against this pandemic. © 2022 IEEE.

ABSTRACT

Context: From the past few years, Application Programming Interface (API) is widely used for mobile- and web-based application developments. Software developers can integrate third-party services into their projects to achieve their development goals efficiently using APIs;however, with the rapid increase in the number of APIs, the manual selection of Mashup-oriented API is becoming more difficult for the developer. Objective: In the COVID-19 pandemic, everyone wants an update about the latest Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and the latest information on COVID-19. Additionally, a software developer wants to develop an application that provides the SOPs and latest information of COVID-19;a developer can add these functionalities into an application using COVID-19-based APIs. Moreover, the current work aims at proposing a COVID-19-based API recommendation system for the developers. Method: In this study, we propose a COVID-19-based API recommendation system for developers. The recommendation system takes a developer query as input and recommends top-3 APIs and supported features, which help the developer during software development. Furthermore, the proposed COVID-19-based API recommendation system ensures the maximum participation of the developers by validating the recommended APIs and recommendation system from the expert developers using research questionnaires. Results: Additionally, the proposed COVID-19-based API recommendation system's output is validated by expert developers and evaluated on 120 expert developers' queries. In addition, experiment results show that single value decomposition achieves better prediction. Conclusion: We conclude that it is significantly important to recommend APIs along with supported features to the developer for project development, and future work is needed to take more developer's queries also to build Integrated Development Environment for the developers. © 2022 World Scientific Publishing Co.
